Chintan Shivir 2026 concludes in Delhi, focuses on strengthening AYUSH sector

Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav has said that a major step has been taken to expand insurance coverage and improve claim settlement for AYUSH treatments during the Chintan Shivir 2026. The two-day Chintan Shivir concluded successfully in New Delhi yesterday.
 
Speaking to the media, Mr Jadhav said the event included six sessions focused on preparing clear strategies to make the Ayush sector more effective, empowered, and people-centric.
 
In his address, Mr Jadhav said the Shivir served as a comprehensive national-level brainstorming exercise to strengthen policy, governance, and implementation frameworks in the Ayush sector. He described Ayush as a holistic health and lifestyle approach capable of addressing modern and lifestyle-related diseases.
 
The Minister emphasised the need for deeper integration of Ayush with mainstream healthcare systems, promotion of evidence-based research, and expansion of digital health platforms like Ayush Grid and telemedicine to improve accessibility, especially in rural areas. He also highlighted the importance of innovation, entrepreneurship, and capacity building to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
 
The Ministry of Ayush informed that the Key initiatives launched during the event included an MoU between the All India Institute of Ayurveda and the General Insurance Council to expand insurance coverage, the release of benchmark rates for Ayush insurance, and the launch of a toll-free helpline for insurance support.
