Women empowerment central to India’s growth journey, says Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today underlined that the equitable participation of women in the workforce is both a social imperative and an economic necessity. He affirmed that empowering women is central to building a Viksit Bharat.

Addressing an event in New Delhi today, Dr Mandaviya said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the new labour codes have given gig and platform workers a formal identity for the first time ever. He said this historic step secures their financial future by bringing them under a strong social security net.

The Minister informed that the Female Labour Force Participation Rate has risen from over 23 per cent in 2017–18 to 40 per cent in 2025.
