Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh has extended greetings on the occasion of Basava Jayanti today. In a social media post, the Defence Minister said that all must remember Jagadguru Mahatma Basaveshwara and his contributions to the world. He added that Jagadguru Basaveshwara stood for equality, dignity, and social justice. Mr Singh said he also opposed the hierarchical system that divided society.
The Minister said that Basaveshwara’s legacy and his eternal teachings continue to guide people towards a compassionate, just and harmonious society.
