Election Commission sets 6 pm deadline for campaigning in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, today is the last day of campaigning. According to the Election Commission, there will be no campaigning of any sort after 6 p.m. With the available time, last-minute electioneering is taking place in all the districts. The BJP leader, while campaigning for the alliance party candidates, said that the DMK gave the worst governance in the State and said that dynastic rule had permeated up to the village Panchayat level under the DMK regime. Edappadi Palanisamy blamed the DMK Government for the deterioration of law and order and the increase in the number of crimes against women and said that the people have rejected them. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said that Tamil Nadu has been achieving because of the DMK Government. He warned the AIADMK for joining with the BJP and pointed towards the present condition of former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Congress blamed the Income Tax department for preventing State Congress President Selva Perunthagai from carrying out his political duties and termed the searches a blatant misuse of central agencies by the BJP.

“With the ongoing campaigning and theatrics of all sorts, this election will be a deciding factor since it looks like a three-cornered contest at large and also a four- or five-cornered contest in some constituencies. Every election is an evaluation of the Governance and the voters’ choice is to pick whoever they want. The raging heat of summer is also posing a challenge to both the campaigners and the voters on the last day of the campaigning.”
