Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi chaired a review meeting in Koderma, Jharkhand, to assess various project proposals under the Nirbhaya Fund provided by the Central Government. Detailed discussions were held on technology-driven measures to strengthen women’s safety, including CCTV installation, drone surveillance, pink patrolling, digital tracking, strengthening of monitoring mechanisms, and self-defence and Shaurya training programmes.
The Minister directed officials to ensure proper utilisation of the Nirbhaya Fund, expedite the approval process of projects, and reinforce monitoring systems at the grassroots level. Progress was also reviewed regarding the upgrading of tourism facilities at Tilaiya Dam, the expansion of basic infrastructure, and the construction work of Karma Medical College and Hospital. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Rituraj presented the latest progress report and emphasised time-bound, transparent implementation and inter-departmental coordination, while officials, including Superintendent of Police Anudeep Singh, stressed prioritising holistic development of the Koderma parliamentary constituency, expansion of health services, and strengthening of women’s safety mechanisms.
