Union Minister Amit Shah to address multiple rallies in North Bengal

Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address multiple rallies in North Bengal today. At the Sukna Sports Ground in Siliguri, he spoke in support of party candidates contesting from eight assembly constituencies in the region.
 
In his speech, Shah asserted that only the BJP can resolve the long-standing Gorkha issue. Calling for change in the state, he said this election is a fight for the safety of mothers and sisters. He made it clear that if the BJP comes to power, rapists in West Bengal will be sent to jail. He accused the Congress, Trinamool Congress, and the Communists of doing wrong with Subhash Ghising.
 
Mr. Shah assured that tea gardens will not be allowed to shut down. He also announced that a national highway connecting Darjeeling to the Sundarbans will be built; there will be a separate AIIMS, a cancer hospital, an IIM, and an IIT in North Bengal, and Darjeeling will be developed as an eco-adventure and heritage tourism hub and a sports university for the Gorkhas. He also asserted that if his party comes to power, an investigation into corruption in the GTA will be done. He reiterated that they will implement the Seventh Pay Commission within 45 days of coming to power.
