UNICEF says two water truck drivers killed in Israeli fire in Gaza

The United Nations children’s agency UNICEF said two truck drivers it had contracted to deliver clean water to families in the Gaza Strip were killed by Israeli fire. In a statement, the agency said the incident took place during routine water trucking on Friday morning at the Mansoura water filling point in northern Gaza, which supplies Gaza City. Two other people were injured in the attack.

UNICEF said it had suspended operations at the site and urged Israeli authorities to investigate, stressing that humanitarian workers, civilians, and essential water infrastructure must be protected under international humanitarian law.
