The fishermen from Tamil Nadu were attacked by Sri Lankan fishermen near Nagapattinam when they were nine nautical miles away from Southeast of Arcot last night. The fishermen had wounded the Tamil fishermen and looted their catch. One Sri Lankan fisherman was caught by the wounded fishermen and handed over to the State Fisheries Department officials. The other Tamil fishermen whom the Sri Lankan fishermen injured are admitted to the Vedaranyam Government Hospital. The Marine Police officials are conducting an inquiry into the issue.
