President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides today visited the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai and participated in the traditional bell-ringing ceremony. Delivering the keynote address at a programme here, he reiterated that Cyprus serves as a natural gateway between India, Europe and the wider Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, combining political and economic stability with ambition, innovation and a future-focused outlook. He asserted that Cyprus is keen to encourage greater two-way investment and deepen business, investment and financial links with India, especially in sectors such as technology, shipping, energy and financial services.
He added that this era is opening new pathways for investment, capital markets, cooperation and financial connectivity and that institutions such as the National Stock Exchange of India can play a very important role in shaping this bridge of connectivity and facilitating the growing strength of partnership between India and the European Union, creating significant opportunities for economies, businesses and markets. NSE Chairperson Shrinivas Injeti, NSE MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan, and CXOs of the NSE were present on the occasion.
President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides then emplaned for Delhi, where he was seen off by Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal, and others at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai.
