Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will expand his cabinet today. Rajesh Kumar, leader of Congress legislature party and P. Viswanathan, Melur MLA, will be inducted into the cabinet.
This is the first time after 1967 that Congress members will join the State Cabinet. Senior Congress leaders P. Chidambaram, Manikam Thakur and many others have welcomed the decision of CM Vijay to form a coalition government.
The swearing-in will take place today at Lok Bhavan at 10 am. State Governor Vishwanath Arlekar will administer the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the newly inducted ministers.
It is to be noted that the TVK Government sworn in on 10th of this month proved its majority in the Assembly with five MLAs from Congress,, and two members each from VCK, IUML, CPI, CPI(M) along with 22 MLAs of AIADMK faction led by S.P. Velumani.
