The NIA Court in Kolkata has yesterday granted 14 days’ judicial custody to Mofakkerul Islam and Akramul Bagani in connection with the gherao of seven judicial officials at Mothabari in Malda district. The court directed the National Investigation Agency to submit its report on 11 May, the next date of hearing.

 

Mofakkerul Islam and Akramul Bagani are accused of instigating the gherao and subsequent attack on judicial officials at Mothabari earlier this month. The judicial officials were appointed in the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal.
