The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) today reiterated its commitment to a shared resolve to adopt a network-centric approach to effectively combat drug trafficking across the country over the next three years. The officers of the NCB took this resolve during the first Quarterly Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Directors’ Conference in New Delhi today.
The Director General of the NCB called upon all field formations of the bureau to gear up for the implementation of the roadmap. The first day of the conference included a detailed review of the enforcement and coordination functions of the zonal offices and deliberations on strengthening NCB to optimise its output. Senior officers of NCB from across the country came together to assess emerging drug trends, deliberate on regional challenges, enhance inter-agency coordination, and build robust enforcement frameworks for a safer, drug-free nation. The two-day conference will focus on devising strategies and setting targets to effectively control the menace of drug trafficking and drug abuse in the country in the next three years.
