In Sikkim, the supply and distribution of LPG cylinders remains steady, with the current backlog restricted to just 1.46 days.
The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, in coordination with the Sikkim government and LPG distributors, continues to monitor supply lines closely to prevent disruptions. Adequate LPG stocks are being maintained at bottling plants and godowns to meet household demand.
Official sources said that the total pending LPG bookings in Sikkim as on date stands at just over 5000. Against this, the average daily delivery is 3 thousand 618 cylinders. With this pace of delivery, the overall backlog translates to only 1.46 days.
Emphasizing the need for cooking gas among students, migrant labourers, and other temporary residents who are unable to obtain regular LPG connections and do not possess LPG passbooks, 5 Kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders have been made available at selected LPG distributors and agencies in Gangtok district.
Moreover, district administrations are publishing the next day’s LPG distribution schedule for various areas through electronic and digital platforms to ensure maximum public awareness and enable consumers to plan accordingly.
