Kalbaishakhi Storms Cause Heavy rainfall in Tripura, IMD Issues Warning

A series of powerful Kalbaishakhi storms and heavy rainfall have caused widespread devastation across Tripura, paralyzing normal life in several districts. The Gomati district was among the hardest hit, with Udaipur, Amarpur, and Karbook sub-divisions reporting severed power lines and blocked national highways due to uprooted trees.

The Meteorological Department has issued a grim forecast, warning of continued heavy rain and gusty winds reaching up to 80 kilometres per hour over the next three days. Agartala witnessed severe urban flooding due to torrential rain.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has confirmed that the state government is actively managing the aftermath of recent severe weather that damaged homes and infrastructure across Tripura. District authorities are currently on the ground implementing relief measures, and the administration has pledged comprehensive support and compensation to all affected citizens.
