Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today unveiled the jersey of the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Club at a function in Jammu. The event was attended by Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, and members of the club.
Appreciating the club’s contribution to promoting cricket, the Chief Minister said the government is committed to supporting sports activities and nurturing young talent across the Union Territory.
On the occasion, club president Aman Cheema highlighted the club’s achievements, saying it has won several tournaments and is helping engage youth in positive activities.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also launched a wildlife magazine titled ‘Checklist of Mammals of Jammu and Kashmir, India’. He commended the efforts of wildlife experts and stressed the importance of research and conservation in preserving the region’s biodiversity.
