Jharkhand: 4 Maoists killed in gunfight with security forces in Hazaribag district

In Jharkhand, four Maoists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in the Piparwar-Keredari border area of Hazaribag district today. Among those killed was Maoist sub-zonal commander Sahdev Mahto, who carried a reward of 15 lakh rupees.
 
The joint operation by the CoBRA battalion and district police also led to the recovery of a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and Maoist materials from the site. Chatra Superintendent of Police Sumit Kumar Agrawal said the identification of the other Maoists is underway.
 
Following the incident, security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an intensive search operation. Combing operations are continuing in the nearby jungle and hilly terrain to trace other insurgents and clear the area of extremism.
