Israel Orders Evacuation in South Lebanon Amid Renewed Tensions

The Israeli military has ordered residents of 16 towns and villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately to the Sidon area. The affected towns and villages include al-Sawana, al-Jumayjima, Khirbet Silm, Salaa and Deir Qifa.  In a social media post, Israel Defence Forces spokesperson Avichay Adraee said the attacks are being launched due to Hezbollah violating the US-mediated ceasefire agreement.

On the other hand, Hezbollah has said it would not cease its attacks on Israeli troops inside Lebanon and on towns in northern Israel as long as Israel continued its ceasefire violations. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has said Iran wants the US to open the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.
