Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Saint Petersburg to hold crucial talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the West Asian conflict. The talks between Mr Araghchi and President Putin are expected to focus on recent developments following joint military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran. 

 

Iranian officials have described the visit as part of ongoing close consultations between Tehran and Moscow, with both countries sharing similar positions on key regional and international issues. Mr Araghchi’s visit to Russia follows his recent trip to Oman, where he met Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The discussions covered bilateral relations, regional developments, and diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions. During the meeting, Oman reiterated its support for dialogue and mediation to achieve lasting political solutions and ensure regional stability.
