Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has assured that the supply of petroleum products and LPG remains stable and adequate in Punjab, with no disruption in the availability of essential fuels. Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) depots are maintaining healthy inventory levels, and retail outlets have sufficient stock to ensure uninterrupted sales. There is no cause for concern regarding the availability of automotive fuels.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, Executive Director and State Head of IOCL in Punjab, Ashutosh Gupta, said, oil companies are maintaining an uninterrupted LPG supply to households across the state, with cylinder deliveries continuing almost in line with pre-crisis levels. To further support demand, commercial LPG allocation has been increased to approximately 70 per cent of pre-crisis levels. He added that additional measures include doubling the allocation of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders to support migrant labourers and other vulnerable sections. He also encouraged customers to use digital methods for booking refills.
Mr Gupta, who is also serving as the State Level Coordinator for the oil industry in Punjab, said that close coordination with the Centre and the Punjab Government is ongoing to prevent malpractice and hoarding. He added that if anyone finds black marketing or hoarding of LPG cylinders by unscrupulous elements, they can report it by calling the Chandigarh helpline number 0172-3321001 in the public interest. He advised customers to avoid panic booking or hoarding of LPG cylinders, and not to rely on rumours, urging them instead to follow official sources for accurate information.
He was accompanied by State Level Coordinator (SLC), Chandigarh, Sushant Kumar, and LPG In-charge for Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, Mr Parmeshwar.
