India’s chemical sector supports the country’s broader industrial growth & potential to generate 10 million jobs by 2040, says Secretary DCPC

Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Tejveer Singh today said that India’s chemical sector supports the country’s broader industrial growth and has the potential to generate ten million jobs by 2040.
 
Mr Singh said this while addressing the India Speciality Chemicals Conclave 2026 in New Delhi. He underscored the chemical sector’s goal of achieving a valuation of one trillion dollars. 
 
Speaking about the ongoing West Asia crisis, Mr Singh emphasised that the government has taken multiple preventive measures for the welfare of the chemical sector.
 
He further reaffirmed the commitment of preparing a responsible chemical sector ecosystem that can contribute in India’s journey of Viksit and Atmanirbhar Bharat. 
 
The conclave, organised by ASSOCHAM, provided a platform for discussions on opportunities and challenges in the chemical sector.
 
The conclave brought together industry leaders, experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss future pathways for India’s speciality chemicals ecosystem.
