In football, the India Under-17 women’s team reached Suzhou, China, yesterday to take part in the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026. The Young Tigresses underwent a brief camp in Gurugram, Haryana, before the crucial tournament.
India, who have qualified for the tournament after 21 years, will begin their campaign in Group B against Australia on 2nd May, followed by matches against Japan on 5th May and Lebanon on 8th May. All of India’s matches will be played at the Suzhou Taihu Football Sports Centre pitches.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams across all three groups, will qualify for the quarter-finals. The four quarter-final winners will secure qualification for the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026.
