The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions today in parts of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Odisha, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Vidarbha and West Rajasthan.

The weather agency has also predicted heavy rainfall in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

According to the Met Department, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, parts of north-east India, Punjab, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand are expected to experience thundersquall conditions today.

The IMD has also said that thunderstorms and lightning are likely during the day in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, North Interior Karnataka, Odisha and Jharkhand.

Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail over Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa and Gujarat.
