In Gujarat, as many as 730 seats have been declared uncontested in the upcoming local body elections in the state. According to the final figures released by the State Election Commission after the withdrawal of nomination forms, 43 seats were won uncontested in 15 Municipal Corporations and 385 seats were declared unopposed in Nagarpalika, while 51 uncontested seats in the District Panchayats and 251 seats in the Taluka Panchayats.

 

Voting for the remaining seats in the 15 Municipal Corporations, 84 Nagarpalikas, 34 District Panchayats, and 260 Taluka Panchayats will take place on 26th of April, and counting will be held on 28th of this month.
