Govt’s capacity-building initiatives have transformed into people-driven movement: MoS Jitendra Singh

Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that the government’s capacity-building initiatives have transformed into a people-driven movement. Addressing the Valedictory Ceremony of Sadhana Saptah 2026 in New Delhi, Dr. Singh commended the enthusiastic participation of government employees. He said that out of the 47 lakh employees engaged, over 33 lakh have already completed the recommended four hours of learning. He noted that this scale of engagement reflects the Prime Minister’s core vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ or citizens’ participation.

Praising the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) for its innovative approach, Dr. Singh announced that the government is now expanding its training outreach. He highlighted that new courses are being developed specifically for science administrators and academicians to help them navigate standard administrative protocols when transitioning from labs and classrooms into government roles. He further suggested that the CBC should draft orientation modules for Parliamentarians and Ministers to build a comprehensive, cohesive team for future-ready governance.

Speaking on the increasing integration of technology in administration, the Minister described Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a great enabler for smart governance. Dr. Singh strongly emphasised that regardless of the efficiency of AI and digital portals, there is absolutely no substitute for human integrity and the human touch in public service. Congratulating the top-performing States and Union Territories for their learning initiatives, the Minister expressed optimism about the future of governance, driven by an optimal blend of modern technological tools and foundational human values.
