Govt takes steps to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products and LPG

The Government has taken several steps to ensure the uninterrupted availability of petroleum products and LPG across the country. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has said that the supply of LPG to domestic households has been prioritized and no dry-outs have been reported at any LPG distributorship. Online LPG cylinder bookings have increased to about 99 per cent across the country, and OTP-based deliveries have increased to more than 94.5 per cent. Since March 2026, more than 5.36 Lakh PNG connections have been gasified, and infrastructure has been created for an additional 2.61 lakh connections, taking the total to 7.97 lakh connections. Further, about six Lakh customers have been registered for new PNG connections. More than 42 thousand PNG consumers have surrendered their LPG connections as of yesterday. All refineries are operating at high capacity with adequate crude inventories, while sufficient stocks of petrol and diesel are being maintained. Retail outlets across the country are operating normally.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe and no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels has been reported in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs continues to monitor developments in the Gulf and West Asia regions, with focused efforts on ensuring the safety, security and welfare of the Indian community in the region. Around 12 lakh 65 thousand passengers have travelled from the region since 28th February. Iran’s airspace is partially open for cargo and chartered flights. Indian nationals are advised to avoid travelling to Iran, and those already there in that country are urged to leave via land border routes with the Indian Embassy’s support. So far, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has facilitated the movement of two thousand 443 Indian nationals out of Iran through land border routes.
