Govt ensures uninterrupted supply of LPG, PNG, CNG  despite uncertainties affecting Strait of Hormuz 

 The Government has said that despite global uncertainties affecting the Strait of Hormuz, 100 percent supply is being maintained for domestic LPG, PNG, and CNG in the country. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has assured that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel, and LPG are available across the country and no dry-outs have been reported at any LPG distributorships. 
The Ministry said that online LPG bookings have increased to 98 per cent. It highlighted that the 5 kilogram Free Trade LPG cylinders worth more than 14 lakh rupees have been sold since 23rd of last month to support migrant workers. It further noted that over 4 lakh PNG connections have been activated since March, with nearly 4.88 lakh more consumers registering for new connections. The Ministry said that a total of over 1 lakh 31 thousand metric tonnes of Commercial LPG has been sold since 14th of last month.
In a statement, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways stated that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, and over 2 thousand 200 have been repatriated so far. It added that port operations across India remain normal, with no congestion reported.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that Indian missions across West Asia remain on high alert, operating round-the-clock helplines and extending assistance to citizens. The Ministry added that since late February, around 9.55 lakh passengers have travelled from the affected region to India. It noted that evacuation and transit arrangements are being facilitated through multiple countries, depending on airspace conditions. The Ministry informed that External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has held discussions with his counterparts from Kuwait, Israel, Singapore, and Australia to review the regional developments and ensure the safety of Indian nationals.
