The first session of the newly constituted Keralam Assembly commenced in Thiruvananthapuram today. Pro-tem Speaker G. Sudhakaran administered the oath to the newly elected members.
The election for the Speaker’s post will be held tomorrow. The ruling UDF has nominated Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan as its candidate for the post.
The BJP, which has three members in the Assembly, is expected to field B. B. Gopakumar as its candidate, while the opposition LDF is yet to announce its decision on the election.
