In Ladakh, first caravan of Ladakhi pilgrims for Hajj 2026 was ceremonially flagged off from Kharul today by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shabbir Hussain, along with Chairman Hajj Committee Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz, amid emotional scenes, prayers, and warm send-offs.
The first batch, comprising 144 pilgrims, will travel to Srinagar and is scheduled to depart for Medina on April 30, 2026.
Chairman Hajj Committee Ladakh, Haji Mohd Ali Majaz, informed that a total of 325 pilgrims from Ladakh have been selected to perform the sacred pilgrimage this year. He added that the second caravan will leave Ladakh on April 28 and will depart from Srinagar on May 2, 2026. The first batch will proceed to Medina-e-Munawwara on April 30, while the final batch is scheduled to leave on May 5, 2026.
ADC Kargil Shabbir Hussain stated that the district administration has made adequate arrangements to ensure the smooth and hassle-free movement of the pilgrims.
The send-off ceremony witnessed heartfelt farewells from family members and well-wishers, with prayers offered for a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey for all pilgrims.
