Delhi CM Rekha Gupta moves resolution on Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Assembly

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today moved the government resolution on the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam during a one-day special session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

Speaking in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam was introduced in Parliament for women’s empowerment and to increase their democratic representation, but opposition parties had blocked it. Condemning what she called the petty politics of the opposition, she said that the Assembly welcomes the Bill and supports its implementation.

Earlier this morning, BJP MLAs, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, staged a protest in the Assembly premises against the opposition for obstructing the passage of the Nari Shakti Adhiniyam in Parliament.
