Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today moved a resolution in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam during a special session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. The resolution was passed by a voice vote.
While moving the resolution, the Chief Minister said that no region or society can be considered fully developed until its female population receives respect, equal opportunities, and rights. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to build a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047, the Chief Minister noted that women have been included as one of its four key pillars. He asserted that the goal of a Developed India cannot be achieved without the active participation of women.
Referring to the 131st Constitution Amendment Bill, he said, due to the stance adopted by the opposition, women were unable to secure their rightful entitlements. ‘ Criticising the Congress for boycotting today’s special session of the Haryana Vidhansabha, the Chief Minister alleged that on the issue of women’s rights, the Congress has once again revealed its true colours. Chief Minister said that the resolution is not merely intended to criticise the Opposition, but to convey a clear message that any attempt to undermine women’s rights will be met with the people’s response.
