Campaigning for the first phase of the assembly election in West Bengal ends today. A total of 152 seats will go under the polls in the first phase, deciding the fates of 1478 candidates.
Canvassing for the first phase of the assembly election in West Bengal ends today. Political parties are doing last-minute public meetings across the state. Today BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public rally in Kurseong and assured the Gorkha community that he would solve the Gorkha issue within six months after coming to power in West Bengal. BJP leader Rekha Gupta joined a road show in Asansol. On the other hand, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a public meeting in Haldia and scathingly attacked the BJP over the alleged falsehood the party is spreading in Bengal. Amit Shah will address public rallies in Purba and Paschim Medinipur and Paschim Bardhaman districts also. Mamata Banerjee will address public meetings in North 24 Parganas district and in Kolkata today. Congress, the Left and other parties are also canvassing in support of party candidates across the state.
