Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today visited several villages in Ukhrul district as part of a trust-building initiative between the Kuki and Tangkhul Naga communities. Addressing a gathering at the district headquarters, the Chief Minister said that all conflicts in the State will be resolved through dialogue. He stressed the need to look towards the future and urged elders to exercise restraint, adding that dialogue remains the only way forward for restoring lasting peace.
En route to Ukhrul headquarters, the Chief Minister visited Shankai and Thawai Kuki villages, where he interacted with residents and heard their grievances related to water, healthcare facilities, and connectivity.
He assured them that the government would take steps to address these issues. He also visited Sikibung Ramva Tangkhul villages, inspected ongoing development projects, and interacted with villagers.
Later, he laid the foundation stone of the Sirui Heritage Project at Sirul village. The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLAs and senior government officials during the visit.
