Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj S P Singh Baghel today said that the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ cannot be realised without the comprehensive development of villages, farmers, panchayats, and the broader rural landscape. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day today. The Minister said that inclusive growth at the grassroots level remains essential for national progress.

He also noted that the government has undertaken substantial efforts to improve efficiency and governance delivery. The Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the benefits of various government schemes are increasingly reaching the grassroots. Mr Baghel added that mechanisms such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) have ensured that assistance is delivered directly to beneficiaries, enhancing transparency and reducing leakages.

He also urged elected representatives of panchayats to ensure the effective delivery of government schemes at the village level.
