Use of Hindi should expand with technology & digital platforms, says Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today chaired a Hindi Advisory Committee meeting of the Ministry in New Delhi. In a social media post, Mr Gadkari said that Hindi is not merely a language as it serves as a powerful medium for uniting the nation. The Union Minister said that its endeavor is to ensure that the maximum work of the Ministry is conducted in simple, accessible, and practical Hindi. Mr Gadkari added that with the increasing utilization of technology and digital platforms, it is imperative that the usage of Hindi also expands rapidly. He said that Hindi should be employed in a simple language, one that truly belongs to the common people, rather than being perceived as a difficult language. He informed that the Ministry is laying special emphasis on making available information on its official website, social media content, signage, notifications, and public interest in Hindi. Mr Gadkari underlined that it is a collective responsibility to promote Hindi as a link language, while respecting the other languages ​​of the country. Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra also attended the meeting.
