Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today flagged off the bi-weekly Nagpur-Madgaon Express from Nagpur Railway Station. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gadkari said the new rail service has successfully linked the Konkan and Central Railway networks, providing major relief and convenience to passengers travelling between Nagpur and Goa. He said the service has received an overwhelming response from passengers, with bookings already reaching 100 percent occupancy.
The Union Minister expressed hope that if the strong public response continues, the Railways would consider converting the service into a daily train in the near future. He also thanked the Prime Minister, the Union Railway Minister and railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager, for introducing the new service.
Operated by Central Railway as train numbers 11203 and 11204, the Nagpur-Madgaon Express will depart from Nagpur on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3:05 PM and reach Madgaon the following day at 5:45 PM.
On the return journey, it will leave Madgaon on Thursdays and Sundays at 8 PM and arrive in Nagpur the next night at 9:30 PM. The train will halts at key stations, including Wardha, Akola, Bhusawal, Nashik Road, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, and Sawantwadi Road.
