Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today emphasized that farmers should be empowered not just as food providers, but also as energy producers. Mr Gadkari said this while addressing the second edition of Save the Earth Conclave in New Delhi. Addressing the event, the Union Minister stressed the importance of converting waste into wealth through recycling and bio-energy production.
Emphasising water conservation, the Minister said proper management of water resources, including river-linking projects, can help tackle both floods and droughts. Mr Gadkari also called for promoting green and alternative fuels such as ethanol, CNG and electric mobility to reduce pollution and cut import dependence.
Mr Gadkari noted that climate change and environmental degradation pose serious challenges to human life and stressed that immediate action is needed to protect the planet. He underscored that combating climate change is one of the main agenda of the government. He said that environmental protection requires practical solutions and collective efforts and urged the citizens to adopt sustainable practices to safeguard the future.
