According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), four people were killed and 14 others injured, including women and children, in Pakistan’s airstrikes in the Pul-e-Charkhi area in Kabul last night. Pakistan carried out fresh military strikes across multiple Afghan provinces, including Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, and Paktika, last night. Pakistani military aircraft also set ablaze the fuel storage of Kam Air, a private airline company, near Kandahar International Airport.
Condemning the attacks, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that this unjust assault in the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan clearly indicates that Pakistan adheres to no human principles or moral values whatsoever. As per UNAMA, since the 26th of February, 75 people have been killed and 193 others injured in Afghanistan due to ongoing armed clashes with Pakistan.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defence said today that it has conducted strikes on Pakistani military centres and installations in the Kohat district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in retaliation for the airstrikes launched by Islamabad last night. Pakistan’s airstrikes resulted in several civilian casualties on the Afghan side. According to the statement released by Kabul, the military fort in Kohat and the war command centre along the Durand Line were targeted during the strike.
