Telangana Govt to organise special “Youth & Sports Week” from May 18-23

The Telangana Government will conduct a special “Youth & Sports Week” from May 18 to 23. This is part of a 99-day government service program called “Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika.” The week aims to promote fitness, youth development, and employment opportunities across the state.

Events will be held at the district and local levels with participation from youth organisations, students, and sports professionals. The week starts on May 18 with “Fit & Active Telangana.” Marathon races will be organised in Hyderabad at L.B. Stadium and in all district headquarters. Walkathons, yoga, meditation, and fitness sessions will be held throughout the state.

On May 19, Career Day will focus on skill development. The government will inform youth about job opportunities, sports university programs, and military recruitment through virtual sessions. May 20 will feature a Youth Leadership Summit. Young people will participate in youth parliament sessions and painting competitions on social themes. Sports Day on May 21 will encourage people to participate in various games and recreational activities.

On May 22, youth volunteers and sports personalities will clean parks, lakes, and public spaces as part of the “Clean Telangana” initiative. The final day, May 23, will connect young people with job opportunities. Outstanding sports achievers will also be recognised. District officials have been instructed to ensure proper arrangements and wide publicity for all events. The government welcomes all youth and students to participate actively.
