Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mahishini Colon visits Sri Krishna Museum on Buddha Purnima

Sri Lankan High Commissioner Mahishini Colon today visited Sri Krishna Museum in Kurukshetra on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Kurukshetra Development Board Chief Executive Officer Pankaj Setia accompanied him. Ms. Mahishini Kolon learned about the history of Asandha Stupa of Karnal, Ancient Mound and Sugh of Yamunanagar, Chaneti Stupa, Buddhist Vihar, Adi Badri, and Topra Kalan in Sri Krishna Museum.
 
On this occasion, the High Commissioner said, there are several historical sites related to Gautama Buddha in India, which are preserved by the Union and State Governments. He said these sites are showing the way for future generations to carry forward mutual brotherhood and Buddhist teachings. 
 
High Commissioner Mahishini Colon, along with Buddhist monks Ananda and his companions, who came from Myanmar to study at Gautama Buddha University, performed worship on Budh Purnima under a Peepal tree as per rituals of Buddhism. After Kurukshetra, she went to Yamunanagar and visited Chaneti Stupa and Dharmachakra located at Topra Kalan.
