The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the Southwest monsoon has advanced into some parts of Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, many parts of the Andaman Sea and Andaman Islands and entire Nicobar Islands. According to the IMD, Southwest monsoon is likely to set in over Kerala on 26th of this month. The weather agency predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe and South Interior Karnataka during the 3-4 days.
The Met Department estimated the thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Odisha and Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for next two days. The weather agency has predicted heatwave conditions in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha tomorrow.
