Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has commenced in Mizoram. Addressing the inaugural session of a one-day training programme on SIR, Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram, Dr Lalrozama, stressed the need for collective efforts to fulfil the expectations of the public and the Election Commission.

He said utmost care and caution are required during the revision process, as officials would be dealing directly with the electoral rolls. He urged the officers to work with sincerity, precision and vigilance so that genuine citizens of Mizoram are able to exercise their voting rights. He also underscored the significance of political parties in ensuring transparent and credible electoral rolls and appealed for the effective involvement of Block Level Agents nominated by political parties.
