The self-enumeration facility as part of Census 2027 will be available in Telangana from today. The facility will remain open till 10th of May.
Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad after completing his self-enumeration today, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said, Census 2027 will serve as a crucial foundation for achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047, aimed at building an inclusive and economically strong nation by the centenary of Independence.
He appealed to citizens to actively participate in the exercise, describing it as a vital information system that guides national planning, governance and future development. He said the upcoming Census will mark a transformative phase with the use of modern technology, ensuring greater transparency and inclusiveness. Mr Reddy said the Census is not merely an administrative exercise but a key step in strengthening the framework of national development and providing a clearer picture of the country’s socio-economic realities.
Census Telangana Director Bharati Holikeri said the first phase, covering house listing operations, will be conducted from 11th of May to 9th of June, while the second phase, population enumeration, will take place in February 2027 to ensure comprehensive and accurate data collection.
