The Northern Railway has commissioned Double Distant Signals at Pabli Khas and Meerut Cantt to boost Sectional Speed to 130 kilometre per hour on Ghaziabad-Saharanpur Route. The Ministry of Railways said that the project reached a major operational milestone when a train safely traversed the upgraded section, marking the successful integration of the new signalling and interlocking systems. It added that by increasing the sectional speed, Northern Railway aims to provide a smoother and more efficient journey for passengers travelling through the Meerut-Saharanpur corridor. The transition to Double Distant Signalling significantly enhances safety margins by providing better visibility and control for high-speed trains, reducing the need for sudden braking and improving overall punctuality. The Ministry further informed that key technical achievements of the project include Advanced Interlocking, System Alterations, Technical Milestones and Safety Upgrades.
