In Punjab, a major terror plot has been foiled with the recovery of a large cache of militant hardware from Panjwarh Khurd village in Tarn Taran district. The recovery was made during an investigation into an explosion near the Rajpura-Shambhu railway track in Patiala on Monday night.
The blast killed the person who was allegedly trying to plant an IED, which appears to have detonated prematurely. Police later arrested four of his associates, describing them as highly radicalised. Police say the accused are linked to a Pakistan-backed ISI and pro-Khalistan terror network.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said the recovery is based on disclosures made by the arrested accused. He added that investigators are also probing the module’s possible involvement in the Sirhind railway track IED blast in January 2026 and a grenade attack on CIA Moga in November 2025. Further investigation is underway.
