People of Sikkim accorded a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with immense fervour and full enthusiasm. Accompanied by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang Golay and state BJP President Dilliram Thapa, the Prime Minister participated in a grand road show from Ganju Lama Dwar to Lok Bhawan. Residents, students, and representatives of various organisations lined the route, waving and holding flags and placards as they greeted and cheered for the Prime Minister. Various cultural groups and local communities performed their traditional dances to make the atmosphere more celebratory. Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will participate in the closing ceremony of Sikkim’s 50th Year of Statehood celebrations at Paljor Stadium and also inaugurate, launch and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over 4,000 crore rupees across the State.
