Nagaland has recorded the highest GST growth in the country at 37%, significantly surpassing the national average of 6.8% during the financial year up to December 2025. This was announced by Governor of Nagaland Ajay Kumar Bhalla during his maiden address to the Budget Session of the Nagaland Assembly, which commenced today. He described the achievement as a rare distinction and attributed it to systematic, technology-driven and data-led reforms by the State government.
Governor Bhalla also informed the House that the State’s GST collections as of 31st January 2026 stood at 987.38 crore rupees, exceeding the 2025-26 target of 949 crore rupees. The Governor said the figures reflect strong revenue performance and robust growth during the financial year.
