The Parts of Maharashtra are likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds between April 19 and 22, the India Meteorological Department said, indicating a shift from the prevailing heatwave conditions. According to IMD forecasts, regions including western Maharashtra, Khandesh, Marathwada and parts of Vidarbha may experience light to moderate rainfall, with isolated hailstorms and winds reaching 30-50 kmph during this period.
Rainfall activity is expected to begin in parts of the state on April 19, intensify on April 20 and 21, and gradually reduce by April 22. The agriculture department has advised farmers to take precautionary measures, including securing harvested crops and planning farm activities in line with the forecast to minimise potential losses.
