In Jharkhand, the martyrdom day of Veer Shaheed Telanga Kharia and Vijayotsav in memory of freedom fighter Babu Veer Kunwar Singh are being observed today.

 

Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid tribute to Telanga Kharia, describing his struggle as a symbol of tribal pride and stating that his life was dedicated to protecting rights over ‘jal’, ‘jungle’ and ‘zameen’. He said Kharia’s ideals continue to inspire future generations.

 

Meanwhile, in Pakur, Vijayotsav is being celebrated in memory of freedom fighter Babu Veer Kunwar Singh with devotion and enthusiasm. Speakers recalled his courage and significant role in the 1857 freedom struggle, describing him as a great warrior.
