Barring Japan’s Nikkei 225 index, most other Asian markets closed with gains today. South Korea’s KOSPI extended gains from the previous session to close 1.47 per cent up. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index gained 1.06 per cent, Singapore’s Strait Times index settled 0.35 per cent up, and China’s Shanghai Composite index added 0.23 per cent. Japan’s Nikkei, on the other hand, shed 0.51 per cent.
Major European indices were trading in green in intra-day trade. France’s CAC 40 was 0.32 per cent up, Germany’s DAX was 0.29 per cent higher, and London’s FTSE 100 had risen 0.21 per cent, when reports last came in.
