IMD issues heatwave alert in Keralam amid rising heat and humidity

Amid rising heat and humid conditions in Keralam, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave condition in the state. Temperatures have crossed 41°C in certain areas, marking an official heatwave alert in Kerala.

The IMD has also warned of a possibility of heatwave conditions at isolated places in Palakkad, Kollam, and Thrissur districts today. An orange alert has been declared in these districts.

As a safety precaution, the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has advised people to stay indoors between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when UV index levels are at their peak.
